Baosteel Group’s steel production has gone through the three stages of open hearth die casting steel, converter die casting steel and converter continuous casting. The annual steel output has increased from the original 129,000 tons to today’s 16.5 million tons, covering rail steel, pipeline steel and household appliance steel. , Automotive steel, construction steel and other more than 500 steel grades, forming four types of products such as plates, pipes, rails, and lines. The pass rate of casting billet has been stable at more than 99.5% for 5 consecutive years.

Wei Shuanshi, Secretary of the Baogang Group Party Committee, said that Baosteel Group always adheres to the idea of ​​green development, continuously strengthens source control and energy-saving and emission reduction measures to achieve pollutant emission compliance. In recent years, Baosteel Group has successively eliminated four 90-square-meter sintering machines, two steel-making mixed iron furnaces, four old coke ovens and other old equipment. A large number of environmentally friendly and energy-saving equipment with excellent performance have replaced them while improving production technology. It has also comprehensively improved environmental protection indicators.

The steel products produced by Baotou Steel Group have been used in many key engineering projects such as Beijing Daxing International Airport, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and newly developed rare earth rails, high-grade wear-resistant rails, high-speed heavy-load rails and other products It will play an important role in railway construction.

Baotou Steel Group established its factory in 1954. It was the first iron and steel enterprise to be built in ethnic minority areas during the National Five-Year Plan period. It is also the “industrial eldest son” of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. .
